Since the very beginning, SLO has loved doing things a little differently. See below a set of flagship projects — ones where we’ve pushed boundaries and done something truly unique for an amateur orchestra in the UK.

Diwali at the V&A South Kensington
October 2025
On 18 October 2025, SLO performed a Diwali Concert in collaboration with Guest Conductor Anita Datta in the V&A South Kensington. This sell-out performance featured numerous global premieres of orchestral arrangements and was generously funded by the Arts Council England.
August 2023
On 4 August 2023, SLO performed a concert in collaboration with the Battersea Jazz Festival in the Clapham Grand. This sell-out performance featured SLO playing alongside some of the UK's top jazz musicians, premiering Scheherajazz for an audience of 600+.
